A pause on the journey is not wasted time – it is a sacred moment to hear God’s whisper.
Heaven and Dwell
Spiritual Direction, or Accompaniment, can be hard to define.
In a similar way to some forms of counselling, Spiritual Direction is person centred, but also God centred. It is a conversation with three people present: the Spiritual Director listening to both the Spiritual Direction Guest (Directee) and to God, reflecting back what has been heard. It is prayerful, it is divine, it is respectful.
During Spiritual Direction, the guest finds themselves able to see things more clearly, to move away from or towards whatever is featuring in their lives, to be directed in their next steps. It is not the work of the Director, rather the Guest, enabled by the Director.
I truly appreciate the spiritual guidance that you have provided me. You have helped me through the process of discernment, my parents’ deaths, and finding my way from the Episcopal Church to FAB. May God’s blessings be with you always!

A Spiritual Direction session usually lasts an hour, beginning with an opening breathing exercise, and concluding with silence, or a prayer, or a reading as best serves the Guest. Most of my Spiritual Direction sessions take place via Zoom, but could be in person at a Quiet Garden or other suitable venue, or take place during a walk. My fee for Spiritual Direction works on a sliding scale between £25 and £50 at your discretion.
I am an LGBTQIA+ ally, and a Neurodiverse friend: you are safe with me.
