Hi, I’m Vanessa, Priest without Portfolio!

I was ordained at Wells Cathedral in 2004 and since then have been working predominantly in parish based ministry within a rural setting. Over the past four years I have been filling my portfolio by taking Sunday services, weddings, and funerals, across Winchester and Salisbury Dioceses wherever help is needed. I have been known as The Pink Curate, The Walloping Vicar, and of course, Priest without Portfolio.

I trained at Sarum College, Salisbury, to be a Spiritual Director/ Accompanier at Sarum College, and feel privileged to join God in holy conversation with my Spiritual Direction Guests. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and neurodivergent friend, with lived experience in both areas.

I lead Petite Retreats online and in person, and can be booked to create a bespoke retreat for your church or group.
